ENGLISH

We are celebrating HALLOWEEN at school today from 12:30 to 13:40.

If it is not raining we will play games in the playground.

In class we use the time for Science and to do some activities and crafts related to Halloween.

We collect your questionnaires about Electricity experiences.

6º B needs to take some sets of Plickers we didn't have time to do before.

We talk about Science Week and offer different possibilities of works and presentations you can do. You need to tell me about them next Tuesday 2nd what you are planning to bring.

Next, we open our Class book on pages 24 and 25. We practise some vocabulary: verbs related to inventions and discoveries.

Tuesday 26th October

Natural Science

We use  the first ten minutes to have a look at the whole unit.

Then we correct homework.

Then take a quiz. Write numbers 1 to 5, listen and write the correct answer.

Next we do activity 2 (page 94). We create a Venn Diagram like this.

Then we include these ideas in the right place:

involve electrons     -      positive and negative charges    -  North and South pole  -

 create  a "field" -   same sign charges repel each other    -     unlike poles attract each other  -

   like poles are repelled -     ferromagnetic materials   -   electric  circuit  - 

 electromagnet    -     electric conductors  -   different sign charges are attracted

We do it all together in class. It should look like this.  

Then you do activity 7 in your notebook.  Activity 3 is voluntary.

 To help you study the main concepts, you can try this:

• Take a look at the Glossary on page 103. Copy some definitions in your notebook, leaving a space to write the word later. Then, you can test yourself by writing the word  with your book closed.
• BINGO. Write nine glossary words on a 3 x 3 table. Then a classmate reas a definition and you cross your word if you have it.

First, we correct homework (AB page 19).

Throughout the lesson, we take turns to bring out your personal profiles to be presented and checked by Amanda, who will give you advice to make them better, before you type them in e-twinning space.

Then we open CB page 23 for a Grammar lesson. 

Today we are learning some verbs that follow other verbs and they need to go in either -ing form or in infinitive:

He suggested going to the cinema.

We decided to go to the cinema.

Then we look at the table on page 23 and we  answer question 1 from activity 3. The answer is:

There is no pattern. We have to learn the verbs.

El viernes 22 de octubre estuvimos descubriendo en la práctica aspectos sobre electricidad y magnetismo. Organizamos cuatro estaciones y cuatro grupos para poder ir rotando por ellas.

Sólo nos dio tiempo a hacer dos rotaciones. A lo largo de esta semana veremos las otras dos. 

De momento solo hemos podido hacer fotos de 6º B, pero esta semana esperamos poder hacer también las de 6ºA

Today we are going to start talking about the e-Twinning project we are doing this year in Music, Arts and English lessons.

We will describe different jobs you may choose to be for our big project "Once upon a Musical Tale".

Copy and complete the table in your notebook with two examples that are right for you.

First, we open our Class book pages 20 and 21 and look at the photos. We do Activity 1 orally.

Then, we watch this video and do activity 2:

Then we do activity 3 and think about the meaning of SUCCEED. We think of different examples of situations when we may have succeeded.

Natural Science

First we take a QUIZ about the Earth's magnetic field. We write numbers 1 to 5. Write T (true) or F (false).

Then we move to pages 92 and 93 to learn interesting facts about three scientists that studied the relationship between electricity and magnetism, leading to the concept of Electromagnetism:
