First we correct homework

We copy the BIG QUESTION on the poster, we handout post-it notes to think of our own answers to the question and we stick them to the poster.

We use the rest of the time to create a nice cover page for the next unit including these objectives. 



We also take the oral SPEAKING Tests for Unit 4.

NATURAL SCIENCE


In this Natural Science unit we will learn about one of the three vital functions. 

Unit 1. Interaction

First we check your cover pages and objectives. We hand out copies of the Bilingual Dictionary you can stick to the back of the cover page.


We brainstorm ideas about the three vital functions: Nutrition, Interaction and Reproduction, and we write down the main concepts related to the interaction function in humans. There are two interactive worksheets this afternoon as homework, to help you remember what you already know about this function.

Next, we open the book on pages 4, 5 .

We have a look at the pictures and we read the captions.

We do  Activity 1 on page 5. Copy the questions in your notebook. Listen and Answer.


Do activity 3 in the notebook too.

School Day of Non-violence and Peace takes place on January 30, 2022. The School Day of Non-violence and Peace, is an observance founded by the Spanish poet Llorenç Vidal Vidal in Majorca in 1964 as a starting point and support for a pacifying and non-violent education of a permanent character. Different as the first proposed by the UNESCO "Armistice Day" in 1948, the "School Day of Non-violence and Peace" is observed on January 30 or thereabouts every year, on the anniversary of the death of Mahatma Gandhi, in schools all over the world. In countries with a Southern Hemisphere school calendar, it can be observed on 30 March. Its basic and permanent message is: "Universal love, non-violence and peace. We use the rest of the time to work and study individually or in pairs the main aspects of the unit.

  • You can ask any question you may have about the unit.
  • Write 10 definitions from the glossary and exchange them with a partner. Correct and grade your partner.
  • Create a new timeline of the 19th century and locate the main dates you remember from the unit (see activity 3 page 60)

Make sure your notebook is complete: Cover Page, Timeline, Graphic organizer.. and all activities are done and well corrected.

We read the review on CB page 59 first and correct homework.

Today we use our English lesson to start writing our Review.

Using the template provided and following the model on Activity 4 page 52, plan a review of: 

  1.  a recent school event you may remember
  2. a show you attended recently (theatre, circus, concert...)
  3. a TV show you've seen recently and you particularly liked 
  4. a film you've seen recently and enjoyed.
  5. The best book you've ever read

TEMPLATE Writing a REVIEW

Using a separate paper you are going to write a draft first. try to do it on your own or using a dictionary. If you can´t find what you need in a disctionary, you can ask the teachers.

Once you check your draft, copy it neatly and separating paragraphs on the back of the template. It will be corrected according to the rubric.

Work on your draft and final version of the Review. It need to be finished by Friday.

Before we read the text, we think of possible reviews we may have read recently, before or after watching a film or a show. We can also think about Bosque Magazine, where we can read (and write) reviews of the activities we've done throughout the school year.

SPECIAL QUIZ
Next we hand out the document with 20 questions. I am only asking you to choose FIVE  and answer them with full sentences on a separate paper. You will have 15 minutes to do it. If in that time you can answer more questions, you can do it. But trace a line below the five questions you selected in the first place.

After we collect the quiz, we are going to have a look at the last chapter of the unit, that is related to the artistic movements in the 19th century in Spain. We may not have time to see them all. We start with Goya and the Romanticism.

Antes de comenzar una nueva unidad, y como el viernes de esta semana celebramos el Día escolar de la Paz y la No Violencia (30 de enero)  hoy vamos a hacer unas actividades especiales.



Podemos relacionar este día con dos de los objetivos de desarrollo sostenible. Agenda 2030. Objetivos 4 y 16.








Vamos a comenzar a elaborar entre todos la cometa de nuestra clase, que colgaremos el próximo viernes a la entrad del colegio.

Por otra parte, Raquel nos va a explicar unos juegos/dinámicas que nos permitan conocernos un poco mejor.

Today we are going to split he class in two groups the team of writers for e-twinning wil meet with me to start creating the first elements for our music tale.

First we read pages 52 and 53 carefully again.
We take a QUIZ.  Write numbers 1 to 5. Write answers.


Next, we correct homework


Before we finish the unit with a last chapter on Art in the 19th century we are going to revise today the main historical events that we have studied in previous chapters.





We have a look at activities 3 page 60.  We check:


We make sure we can find those dates in the timeline we drew at the beginning of the unit. We write the events mentioned in the activity in chronological order.

We copy the questions in activity 8 page 60 and answer them with full sentences. They are similar to the ones you'll have to asnswer in the QUIZ on Monday.


We use the rest of the time to start doing homework. Remember we have a special Quiz on Monday in which you will have to answer some questions about the unit.
