Today we are going to watch one of my favourite movies, based on one of the best books I have read in the last few years. I always encourage all my studentts from fifth and sixth grade to read it.

CHRISTMAS RECOMMENDATIONS and CHALLENGE

• READ good books in English (and in Spanish, of course)
• Watch films or TV series in English with subtitles in English, whenever you can
• Create your own healthy recipes, make a poster or a video to share in class and/or in the blog

We use both lessons (English and Science) to hand out books and book reviews from Classroom Library), at the same time we work contnets related to Christmas.

Today we are going to read as  a group and the book we read on Friday. We are going to read it as a group, as if it was a play.

We asign characters: the Grinch, Cindy-Lou Who, Quotations who... and each one will read their part. Everyone will have a part.

After that, we can check how much we remember by playing a board game in small groups.

We use the rest of the time to make a Chritmas card  and othe Chritmas decorations. We will also make a  Christmas box for our Secret Santa (amigo invisible in Spanish).

Para acabar el primer trimestre con un toque artístico, los alumnos de 6º A y 6ºB  visitamos Caixaforum el lunes 20 de enero.

Hicimos dos grupos. Mientras 6º A visitaba la exposición  La imagen humana, 6ºB descubría las singularidades de este edificio y de su arquitectura. Tras un breve descanso para reponer fuerzas, nos intercambiamos.

Dos guías nos han acompañado en la visita y nos han dado a conocer información muy interesante:

En la exposición titulada  La imagen humana nos han hablado sobre la representación dela figura humana en la historia del arte desde los inicios de la civilización. Nos han ayudado a comprender cómo el ideal de belleza ha ido cambiando a lo largo de los siglos y también en función de los diferentes territorios.

En la visita al edificio hemos podido aprender como éste era una auténtica central eléctrica, con aspecto de fábrica del siglo XIX, que fue adquirido por La Caixa y reformada por dos arquitectos suizos: Pierre de Meuron y Jacques Herzog, para convertirlo en un referente cultural en Madrid. También nos han hablado del sorprendente jardín vertical, o tapiz vegetal, como prefiere llamarlo su creador, el botánico francés  Patrick Blanc.

FIN DE TRIMESTRE

Avisos Importantes

Tras este trimestre intenso (pero que afortunadamente ha podido transcurrir de forma presencial y sin grandes sobresaltos) se acerca por fin un tiempo de merecido descanso.

Como ya os ha informado el Equipo Directivo:

1. El miércoles 22 las clases finalizan a las 13:00 horas.

Para los alumnos de comedor la hora de recogida será como límite, hasta las 15:00 horas  Las rutas saldrán del centro a las 14:00.

 

2. Ese mismo día os enviaremos los boletines de evaluación por email. Además, si tenéis las credenciales,  podéis consultar las notas a través de ROBLE . Es muy importante y OS ROGAMOS POR FAVOR que nos CONFIRMÉIS que las habéis recibido (basta una respuesta al propio email)

Os informamos además:

3. Estos días les estamos pidiendo que se vayan llevando a casa los libros, cuadernos, bolsas y material escolar que dejan habitualmente en clase, para que no tengan que ir muy cargados el miércoles. Preferimos que lo tengan todo en casa por si, ojalá que no, tuviéramos que permanecer más tiempo, como ocurrió el curso pasado por Filomena, o por COVID. Para la vuelta también les pediríamos que lo traigan poco a poco.

4. Este miércoles 22, los alumnos que quieran, pueden venir vestidos con un jersey navideño. Los alumnos de Infantil y de otros cursos de primaria han ido siguiendo consignas para estos últimos días. Con los alumnos y alumnas de 6º, preferimos unirnos solo a la del  miércoles. Ese día, y siguiendo las medidas de seguridad establecidas en nuestro protocolo sanitario, nos reuniremos todos los cursos en el patio por zonas y lo llenaremos de color y de villancicos.

Hoy vistamos en CaixaForum, la exposición La imagen humana: arte identidades y simbolismo.

Nos dividimos en dos grupos. Mientras unos visitan esta exposición, los otros realizan una visita guiada a las instalaciones del edificio. Luego intercambiamos.

Today we are going to take a practice test KET, similar to the one you will be taking in June.

We still don't know the company in charge of the exams this year. We are using Cambridge materials from previous years. It had been the company responsible for the famous KET and PET tests that 6th Grade students in Comunidad de MAdrid have been taking since the beginning of the bilingual Programme.

However, last year it was a new company, called Language Cert, the one that examined our 6th Graders. Their tests were very similar to the ones developed by Cambridge, but not completely. We will have time to practice them too.

We do only the listening and the Reading and Writing parts.

This is just a practice test, it has no consequences

 for your grades.

Hoy vamos a trabajar en el Taller de Filosofía titulado Esfuerzo y. autoconocimiento.

Para empezar, pensamos con un poema, un fragmento del poeta Mario Benedetti

Pensamos las respuestas a las preguntas que se nos plantean.

Antes de comentarlas entre todos, vemos en este vídeo el poema completo.

Después comentamos las respuestas a las preguntas.

A continuación pasamos al apartado ¿Cómo somos?.  Copiamos las preguntas en el cuaderno, pensamos muy bien las respuestas y las anotamos.

Al final las comentamos entre todos. Prestamos especial atención a la última pregunta ¿Es posible que no alcances una meta que te habías propuesto? ¿Cómo deberías actuar si ocurriera? Guarda relación con el poema que acabamos de leer y con las historias de superación que hemos comentado.

En español, aprendemos este conocido villancico de Rosana que reúne algunos de los villancicos populares más conocidos en español. Con este vídeo puedes ir practicando. Bioli os dio la letra y con Mariel habéis estado practicando una pequeña coreografía. Aprended bien la letra para poder cantarla.

En inglés vamos a cantar este original villancico hawaiano. En Hawái luce el sol en Navidad y es muy distinta a la tradicional.

In the notebbook copy the boxes from activity 1, Types of words. Think of two other examples of those types of words. Compare with your classmate.

Then copy the sentences from activity 2 in the notebook and fill in the blanks. We corrrect it all together.

Finally, copy the text about communication from activity 3 and fill in the blanks using a pencil. Compare with your classmate to see if it makes sense.

Hoy vamos a diseñar un plan de entrenamiento para conseguir una meta que nos propongamos. Leemos el modelo de la página 30.

Recordamos que ya hemos hablado de esto y que incluso tenemos una especie de cartel. Podemos usarlo de modelo para redactar pequeños pasos que podemos ir dando para conseguir alcanzar nuestro objetivo.

Conviene que no pensemos en metas demasiado grandes o ambiciosas que no se pueden alcanzar a largo plazo, sino más bien en pequeños objetivos que sí estén al alcance de la mano. Las grandes metas llegarán después.

las personas con discapacidad

Hoy viernes 3 de diciembre, los alumnos de 6º han tenido una sesión muy especial en la además de conocer detalles sobre la vida y la obra de un artista con parálisis cerebral: Manuel Aragón Cáceres "Manuelo" (1932-1995) han podido ellos mismos realizar una obra siguiendo su técnica.

A lo largo de toda esta semana, en Escuelas Bosque hemos celebrado la Semana de la Discapacidad.  Se han organizado diferentes actividades para los distintos cursos, con el fin de concienciarnos sobre los retos que afrontan personas que presentan distintas capacidades.

Los alumnos de 6º tuvieron además el martes una sesión en inglés sobre la lengua de signos en general y sobre la lengua de signos británica (BSL) y americana (ASL) en particular.

También, en la sesión de Educación Física han podio experimentar lo que cuesta escribir o dibujar con limitación visual.  Aquí podéis ver las imágenes
