SOCIAL SCIENCE
We start a new unit of Social Science today. The European Union.
It is a lucky coincidence that today Europe commemorates the the signing of the 'Schuman Declaration' on 9 May 1950. An ambitious plan to secure long-term peace in post-war Europe that is considered the beginning of what is now the European Union.
We remember some of the concepts we learned in Unit 2 about Europe as a continent (unit 2). We go back in our notebooks and identify the countries that are currently members os the EU.
We have a look at the pictures on pages 102 and 103. We read the captions and do activity 1 orally.
Then we do activities 2 and 3 in the notebook.
HOMEWORK
Finish activities 2 and 3 page 103 in your notebook.
